Find Out How Old Your Woodburner Is
From 1 April 2010, the winter use of old woodburners (15 years and older between 1 April and 30 September) will be banned in Christchurch.
Below is a database of woodburners, pellet fires and other solid fuel burners in Christchurch Clean Air Zone 1 that had their building consent issued after 1 January 1993. From this database you can find out how old your burner is and whether you can still use it.
If the burner on your property is not on the list, it is most likely that it is either more than 15 years old or has been installed without a building permit and you will not be able to use it during winter.
